The Florida Legislature is in the midst of revising the 2009 budget because of declining tax revenue. Among items on the chopping block is funding for the SHIP and SAIL programs (Sadowski Funds), which provide much needed down-payment assistance and housing for those who need it the most.
It is through Realtor efforts that we have these funds (doc stamps paid at all real estate closings), and want to protect what we have worked so hard to achieve!
Please contact your legislator today and remind them that housing equals jobs! One of the best investments is in the housing sector, where the economic stimulus is over 6-to-1 for every dollar spent. Click on the link below to send your message today!
Please share this with every friend, family member, client and business affiliate you know! In the past, the Sadowski Fund had over a billion dollars (yes, BILLION) in it! The Florida Legislature appropriated some of those funds and when it was finally released to the state down-payment assistance programs, there was only $400 million! Do not let this happen again!
